Here’s mine…I’m Jo…

♥Baking and cooking has always been a passion of mine and everything I do is heart lead♥

Food is one of the ways I show LOVE!

I learned to cook with my Mum and I have been inspired by my entire family.

I have such amazing memories of the crumbliest most amazing Shortbread, and looked forward to finding coins in the Christmas pudding made by my Nana. Pop always tricked us to believing he found a coin in every bite.

My other Nana made the most memorable Christmas cake every year, and my Pa once a week made cheese on toast for us all. Because of that I looked forward to Sunday breakfasts whenever we were there.

Mum’s Melting Moments, Chocolate Chip Cookies and ANZAC’s were a frequent request and now we order big for her truffles and chocolates for Xmas. We also love the staples such as her Shepherd’s Pie.

No one can beat Dad’s potatoes on the BBQ…

And my husband wooed me with his go to dish of Chicken Breast filled with blue cheese, wrapped in prosciutto.

Food creates memories…

The first recipe I learned to make myself was PANCAKES…

I managed to capture this picture of my son when he had just managed his first clean pancake flip!!

As a kid I made restaurants comprised of everything in the fridge that I knew how to cook.

I’d put together a menu, take everyone’s orders and then get to work in the kitchen, set the table and deliver… then I’d also clean up.

I now have 2 kids of my own and when my son was born I created Love Inside.

I licensed our home kitchen and started sharing my passion with our local community.

I’ve been cooking and baking with the kids since they were old enough to stand beside me on a stool.

It’s so amazing to see how far they’ve come so fast.

During COVID we hyped up our baking and tried all the recipes I’d been meaning to for a long time; breads, hot cross buns, scones, cookies, playdough and so much more.

It was a great opportunity to see firsthand how the kids were understanding the recipes and the skills.

Neither of my kids (at the time) were of school age so I created a way that they could be in charge and read and execute the recipes.

We got coloured Measuring Cups and Spoons and I created many recipes, in an image based format for them.

They loved being able to “read” and be “the boss” and were so proud of their creations.

Thus began Baker Kids…..

Almost 4 years down the road and both kids can read and now my eldest is completing full Baker Kids recipes himself, start to finish with delicious results!

I’m now teaching other kids to bake with our Baker Kids Incursions and Baker Kid Recipes, and I’m also a relief teacher aide.

OUR hope is that our Baker Kid Recipes will provide the lovely experiences that we have shared, so that you may do the same with your family.

Recipes that even the youngest baker can read and make, teaching so many other life skills along the way.

I’m happy knowing that though our kids have so much yet to learn and experience…

…that they will be able cook/bake any recipe they come across in their young and adult life!
